To ensure we deliver our green philosophy from the grass-roots up, we provide full design-and-build options in collaboration with some of New Zealand’s most influential architects. Our experienced builders and project managers work in harmony with quality design professionals, which enables us to assume full responsibility for your project. Therefore, the transition from design to construction is seamless and ensures cost efficiencies. We’ve put together a 10 Simple Steps to Build with LiteGreen brochure for you to download.
It’s quite simple, the image of the two houses illustrates the difference between a code-minimum home built today and a well-insulated LiteGreen home. In essence, the house on the left could have up to 12 – 20 air changes per hour. The LiteGreen home on the right will have just 1 to 3 air changes per hour due to its superior insulation thanks to building products such as Habitech SIPS panels. In essence, the LiteGreen home on the right will require 12 to 20 times less energy to heat because there is minimal heat loss. We build with either 170mm-thick SIPS panels (Habitech) or thermally broken 140mm-wide timber frames.
The image also illustrates that we build a well-insulated thermal envelope around the entire home—its foundations, walls, and ceiling, for example. We achieve this by blending the right mix of technology, heating and ventilation systems with superior materials, sustainable design principles and a passionate build team. Together, we simply deliver better homes — often at little or no extra cost.
As featured on Grand Designs on November 13, 2016 on TV3 (yes the same night of the Kaikoura Earthquake!), this episode show-cased our energy efficient Habitech SIPS concept house. As can be seen, it delivers both in architectural design whilst boasting our core green principles.
This beautifully crafted architectural build, Habitech panel construction and extensive recycled timber facing.
This exquisite architectural build features everything a good energy efficient healthy home should have.
Logan is a licensed building practitioner and has run his own building company for ten years prior to LiteGreen. Logan worked on large architectural buildings including the Christchurch Art Gallery and was one of the only contractors approved to restore class-one heritage buildings (work that requires excellent attention to detail and fine carpentry skills). Logan is a problem solver and forward thinker; Innovation is his passion and he’s constantly improving the way LiteGreen build.
LiteGreen’s philosophy of sustainability and energy efficiency is reflected in Logan’s lifestyle; he lives off the grid with his family on their lifestyle block and being a family man, he can often be found with his son, daughter and partner Mellisa, swimming, surfing, free diving, spearfishing and fishing.
Martin has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the building industry and running successful businesses. Having spent 11 years working in the UK and looking out for new building principles and technologies, he knows what it takes to deliver sustainable, energy-efficient homes. Most importantly, he acknowledges that customer service, trust and quality work and materials are key in delivering successful design-and-build homes to his clients. Before joining LiteGreen, Martin’s career was varied. He has worked in television, managed a window manufacturing business and built a business up in the UK which once employed 5 people and now employs well over 150.
Martin has recently married and is an avid sportsman, who can often be found on the golf course or at his local cricket club.
LiteGreen are part of the Superhome Movement, an organisation consisting of like-minded builders, designers and service providers who are committed to raising the standard of New Zealand housing. For its members, the Superhome Movement is a source of the latest building techniques, designs and technologies. The Movement also educates and lobbies for change.
The Superhome Movement concept is simple: Think small about our environmental impact, but think big when it comes to social impact and the life costs of your new home. It’s about building ‘forever houses.’ We are continually on the lookout for like-minded companies.

“We have recently moved into our beautiful new home in Pegasus built by LiteGreen. From the first moment we met their experienced team we knew we were in good hands. The design and quality they delivered was exactly what we wanted and most importantly met our budget. We are so proud to be in a home that delivers excellent energy efficiency whilst also delivering in comfort and architectural flare. People often walk by our home and offer lots of positive comments which makes us really grateful for what we have built. We can’t thank LiteGreen enough for all their expertise, customer service and attention to detail. We would happily recommend them to anyone looking to build in the future.”
LiteGreen Projects have been an extremely professional builder for Habitech and our New Zealand Projects. Their completed builds are a testament to their high work quality and knowledge of building sustainable and energy efficient homes.
